The Studios where really good. Great location, clean room, clean bathroom. They even provided tea, coffee and sugar which you never get at other places. I would definately recommend this place

Athens Studios is a really great deal for the price. It's like staying in your own apartment for a few nights. You have your own kitchen, living with a couch, bathroom and bedroom. Breakfast is brought directly to your room every morning. The building is very safe because on residents with swipe keys can get in. The best thing was the location, right in the heart of Athens. It was easy to walk everywhere. Staying in the studios is nice because you get the amenities of a private hotel.

Athens by Day

Athens Backpackers & Studios is delighted to present you with the Top 10  best daytime attractions in Athens.

AKROPOLI: The Acropolis of Athens was built in the 5th century BC, symbolizing the power of ancient Athens, ruled exceptionally by Pericles. The Acropolis is located on a high rocky outcrop above the center of Athens and holds the remains of ancient buildings with immense architectural and historic significance. The most famous of them is the Parthenon. Most people think of the Parthenon as the Acropolis, but this isn’t true. The Acropolis also has the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion temple and the famous gate called the Propylaia. The Acropolis was formally proclaimed the preeminent monument on the European Cultural Heritage list of monuments in March 2007. It should be at the top of your Must-See List. Discounted entry for European students. Join our guided walking tour for an up-close and personal experience!

AKROPOLI MUSEUM: The Acropolis Museum is an archaeological museum displaying relics from the Acropolis that have survived throughout history. It opened to the public in June 2009, boasting a contemporary design complemented by immense natural lighting. Over 4,000 artifacts are exhibited over an area of 14,000 square meters. Best of all is the open-air café on the top floor with a direct view to the Acropolis. We’re located just around the corner from the Acropolis Museum, don’t forget your Student ID for reduced entry fees.

ERMOU STREET: Ermou Street is the high street of central Athens connecting Kerameikos ancient cemetary with Syntagma Square. It’s the city's best-known shopping street. Walking down Ermou Street window shopping, you’ll pass through the areas of MonastirakiPsiri and Thiseio. This pedestrian only avenue hosts fashion shops promoting international brands, Greek-style cafes and food from all over the world! We’re a 10-minute walk or one metro stop away from the best shopping in Athens.

GREEK CUISINE: Greek cuisine is the archetype of the famous Mediterranean diet and makes wide use of olive oil, bread, winefish, vegetables, herbs, olivescheese and meats including lamb, chicken, rabbit and pork.  Greek yogurt topped with nuts and honey is the perfect ending to any meal. Restaurants serving delicious contemporary and affordable Greek cuisine are available throughout Athens. Just ask us for our top recommendations anytime at reception. The possibilities are endless!

KALLIMARMARO: The Kallimarmaro Stadium – or the “Old Marble Stadium”- hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Built on the ruins of an ancient Greek stadium, the Kallimarmaro is the only major stadium in the world made exclusively from white marble. The Annual Athens Classic Marathon finishes at Kallimarmaro Stadium and runs the course of the ancient Greek messenger in 490 BC who ran from Marathon to Athens to deliver the news that the Athenians had defeated the Persians. You can visit daily and walk the stadium that Olympians compete in or go for a run yourself on the top deck! Our guided walking tour includes this must-see destination.

MONASTIRAKI: Monastiraki is the famous flea market neighborhood in the old town of Athens. The area is filled with souvenir shops and specialty stores and is a major attraction for bargain shopping. The main streets of this area are Pandrossou Street and Adrianou Street. Take a break from shopping with a famous Greek coffee or beer and souvlaki at one of the numerous cafes and tavernas. Or better yet, let us take you to the best souvlaki shop on our walking tour!

SOUVLAKI: Souvlaki is a popular Greek food on-the-go, consisting of pieces of meat (mainly pork or chicken), french fries, tzatziki and salad. It’s served on a skewer or in a pita sandwich. Cheap, delicious, and much healthier than other fast food!

TAVLI & FRAPPE: Tavli is Greek for backgammon, one of the oldest board games in the world. The playing pieces are moved according to a roll of the dice, and a player wins when all of his pieces have been moved to the other side of the board. Frappé is Greek iced coffee. Accidentally invented in Thessaloniki in 1957, it is now the most popular coffee among Greek youth. Frappe and tavli are the ultimate relaxation for Greeks and you’ll see them playing throughout Athens at many Café Neons, feel free to join!

THISEIO: Thiseio is a neighborhood on the northwest side of the Acropolis. Its name derives from the ancient Temple of Theseus, but nowadays, the district is mostly known for its cafes having the best view of Acropolis. It is a perfect haven to escape from the busy center of Athens. The best Greek lamb chops (pidakia) and Indian food are found in Thiseio! Take the pedestrian walkway that leaves from Athens Backpackers & Studios, winds around the Acropolis and ends at Thiseio, the perfect sunset stroll!

It's the best place to stay! It's right in the city! 1 minute from the metro, 2 minutes from the Acropolis and right next to Plaka! Very clean, with kitchen, huge terraces and depending on the room you get, you can even sun-bathe sitting in the sofa in the living room
